Before Rays of Youth:
Only going from home to the school and no opportunities
Not good at socializing and not confident
Why did you apply to the leadership program?
The aunt and uncle were working at ROY at that time, so they encouraged her to apply
During the leadership program
Hard work during week days for school and trainings on the weekends
The main difference is that at school they have to memorise and at leadership program they learn how to think.
She improved a lot her critical thinking
During the trainings, the trainers encouraged the shyest speak up so everyone had to be involved. She got a lot of confidence thanks to that
Not good at socializing and not confident
After the leadership program
She finished Grade 10 at the same time than leadership program and she continuted with post-ten education
Then she studied GED program at BEAM (Chaing Mai) and when she graduated she applied to a scholarship to enter university but she didn't get it
Finally, thanks to the contribution of her family and one of her teachers she could enter Chaing Mani University and study Social Science Because she wants to work for an NGO in the future
Importance of education
For migrant students education normally finishes after the MLC. She encourages students to continue for higher
education to be more educated and access better jobs
First she was not sure about social science but she found out her motivation later
Challenges: Language and being the youngest students
Future plan
She wants to work for a NGO in Thailand or Myanmar
